Experience a magical Christmas in the Lakes
Join us to enjoy warm hospitality, delicious food, local real ales and mulled wine for a magical, traditional Christmas break. Recently refurbished to a high standard, the hotel is adorned with glittering decorations inside and out to create the perfect setting for your festive celebrations. The cosy atmosphere, blazing fires and friendly service will make you feel totally relaxed and at home whether you are a new or returning guest.

Arrive at the Kings Arms Hotel to the aroma of mulled wine and mince pies which will be served as you
relax after your journey in the lounge bar.
In the evening join us for a pre-dinner glass of bubbly and canapés reception where you will be
welcomed by our General Manager and his team as he takes this opportunity to tell you a little about
the coming days events and entertainment. Then make your way to the Kings Arms restaurant where
a delicious five course Gala dinner will be prepared by our Head Chef and his team for you to savour.
Following dinner, we have arranged a magical torch-lit walk to lake Derwentwater, where you can enjoy
a glass of hot mulled wine and roasted chestnuts. With only the light from our lanterns, the lake and
surrounding mountains will make you feel as if you are in a Winter Wonderland, (warm boots and jackets
recommended!).
Afterwards, enjoy the Keswick Choir Christmas concert in the Market Square outside the hotel before
joining us at the bar for a nightcap.
Christmas morning is a leisurely affair. Start your day with a traditional hearty Cumbrian breakfast and why
not add bit of sparkle with a glass of Bucks Fizz?
Enjoy the morning at your leisure, whether you choose to relax at the hotel, or join in the festive fun by
taking part in our Christmas treasure hunt around Keswick for the chance to win a prize.
After the Lakeland air has stimulated your appetite it will be time to indulge in a sumptuous five-course
Christmas Day lunch, followed by tea, coffee and Christmas cake.
In the evening, the bar is open for pre-dinner drinks before our fabulous ‘Taste of the Lakes and Fells’
buffet is served in the restaurant. With relaxation in mind, we have prepared a fun Christmas quiz and
Christmas cake competition with prizes to be won, promising an entertaining evening.
A true Cumbrian breakfast will set you up for the day before stepping outside into the Market Square to
enjoy a stirrup cup of Kings Arms hot punch with the Blencathra hunt and foxhounds - a town tradition.
Afterwards, take time to relax or get the best bargains in the Boxing Day sales in the variety of lovely
shops in Keswick!
We then suggest you wrap up warm and participate in a scenic guided walk where you’ll be greeted with
a splendid hot and cold picnic buffet at a popular beauty spot halfwayround your walk. Depending on
how many calories you wish to burn post-Christmas, this is followed by a choice of a leisurely or a more
invigorating walk back to the hotel (suitable clothing and footwear advised).
Soon it will be time to enjoy a five-course farewell dinner after which you are welcome to join the other
residents and locals for a drink or two in the cosy bar.
